GETTING STARTED

STEP ONE:  Download the Client & One Assist Program

Click on Downloads in the above menu and download the custom client and either Steam or Razor.  If you download Steam then also grab the doors.xml file and replace the one in the UOS folder with it.  This file will help Steam recognize many of our custom doors for the automatic open doors function available with the assist program.

STEP TWO:  Extract the Client

We suggest you extract the client to Program Files (x86)/Methgair.  Doing so will make patching easier for you in the future.  Never run a patch file on the client that didn't come from us.  Doing so will make the client incompatible with the server and require you to begin this step again.

STEP THREE:  Install Assist Program & Set Admin Rights

Install Steam or Razor, whichever you choose, and set it to run with administrator rights.  You'll also want to give admin rights to the client.exe file in the client folder.

STEP FOUR:  Run the Assist Program

Each time you want to play, you start the game through the assist program.  Below are the setup pages for each assist program.  Once you're set up, click Okay in Razor or Start in UOS.  You should be sent to a login screen asking for a user name and password.  Enter your desired info here and it will become your account information, so don't forget it.  If you have trouble at this stage, contact Perses or Asteria via Discord (link above) or send an email to Methgair@gmail.com.

STEP FIVE:  Create Your Account & First Character

Once you select Start or Okay on your assist program, you will be directed to the login screen.  Enter what you would like for your account name and password and this will become your login information.  Character creation is very straight forward so it will not be explained in detail here.  You can have up to seven characters on your account.

STEP SIX:  Set Your Screen Size.

When you arrive in the game, you may find the screen size unacceptable depending on your resolution.  Open your paperdoll with the menu at the tip of the screen.  On the righthand side of the paperdoll you'll see a list of buttons.  Select options and then the display tab, which looks like an eye.  Scroll down on that page to see  where to set your resolution and game play window size.  Click Apply and then Ok to set these settings the way you want them.

You may want to check out the other tabs in the options menu as well, but you can always revisit the menu later.
